Keys and references
Preserve record identifiers and resolve reference targets before importing dependent records. Assigned to, Technician and issued by point to People; People.User points to Users. A user-specific maintenance view must resolve that mapping rather than compare unrelated identifiers. Users also has a self-reference named User.
Tool cycles.work order reference is not a foreign key. Sharpening jobs references Assets directly, so agree how the operating review identifies the relevant maintenance context. Keep the measurement unit and count convention consistent with the source history.
Migration order
- Resolve Users and People identities, including the self-reference mapping.
- Reconcile Assets and spare parts identities, states and opening quantities.
- Import work orders against valid assets and assigned people.
- Link safety permits, work logs and part usage to the correct work orders and reference records.
- Import tool cycles and sharpening jobs using the agreed units, event dates and reference conventions.
- Bring in service history with valid asset and work-order links. Retain exchange rates under its read-only source authority.
