Who it's for

Internal security teams

An internal security team can use an inspection to review its own subject scope as well as vendor work. The inspection identifies the subject, assigned person and scheduled date. Individual checks hold requirements, results, observations and attachments. A separate audit engagement can record the broader scope and any findings that need owner follow-up.

How Vendor IT Security Assessment is set up for you

Inspected subject

Choose an inspection type and subject reference that a Reviewer can recognize later.

Control result

Record each requirement and outcome under the inspection before submitting it for review.

Correction path

Describe failures in linked nonconformances and assign corrective actions with due dates.

Procedure evidence

Keep controlled documents by version and attach acknowledgments to the document each person read.

An internal security team can use an inspection to review its own subject scope as well as vendor work. The inspection identifies the subject, assigned person and scheduled date. Individual checks hold requirements, results, observations and attachments. A separate audit engagement can record the broader scope and any findings that need owner follow-up.

Begin with an internal assessment procedure and one inspection that uses it. The Document Controller prepares the version, effective date and attachment, then records acknowledgments for the people expected to perform the work. The Inspector schedules an inspection against a clear internal subject and enters its checks. The Reviewer should examine the results and document context before making an acceptance decision.

Run a failed-check rehearsal. Record a nonconformance that points back to the inspection, assign a Corrective Action Owner and set a due date. Let the owner record the root cause and the actual change, then have the Reviewer test effectiveness. Keep the audit engagement separate if the team also conducts a formal audit: its findings have their own owner and due date. The distinction helps the team discuss an inspection outcome, an audit observation and a document acknowledgment without treating them as interchangeable.
