Systems to connect

  • Accounts payable. Send approved order and posted receipt evidence for invoice matching; receive match exceptions and completion evidence for purchasing review.
  • Inventory. Connect stocked item and accepted quantity updates to the inventory system that owns stock balances.
  • Warehouse. Use warehouse receipt evidence where a receiving location is managed there, while keeping the purchase order reference intact.
  • Supplier. Exchange invitations, order revisions and acknowledgements with the relevant supplier channel.
  • Budgeting. Share approved commitment and allocation evidence with the budget process that owns its limits.

How connections are governed

The delivery outbox retains the event, destination, status, attempts and acknowledgement reference for each configured route. A procurement event links the source action to the purchasing record. A sent message and an acknowledged message are different states; Buyer and Controller review failed deliveries before treating the destination as current. Decide connection ownership and reconciliation timing during implementation.
