Opportunity to proposal

An advisory opportunity starts with a household account and a named Relationship Owner. This process carries the conversation through qualification and proposal preparation. Sales Manager can inspect the open book without treating an expected value as an accepted engagement.

Step by step

  1. Capture opportunity Relationship Owner

Relationship Owner selects the household account and organization, records the business subject and sets the expected close date and USD value. The opportunity begins at New. Check that its owner is the team member responsible for this conversation.

    • Establish the household, owner and expected outcome
    • Updates Opportunities, Accounts, Team members, Organizations
  2. Record the conversation Relationship Owner

Relationship Owner logs the call, meeting, email or task on the opportunity. Include a readable outcome and the relevant dates. The activity action uses the current revision and refuses an empty outcome or a closed parent opportunity.

    • Retain the activity outcome against its parent
    • Updates Relationship activities, Opportunities
  3. Qualify opportunity Relationship Owner

Relationship Owner uses the supporting activity to qualify eligible work. The guarded action checks the actor's organization, page identity and expected revision before moving New to Qualified. Keep the operation key for an equivalent retry.

    • Move eligible work from New to Qualified and retain the operation result
    • Updates Opportunities, Relationship activities, Operation receipts
  4. Prepare proposal Relationship Owner

Relationship Owner records the proposal discussion and attaches supporting material before moving eligible work from Qualified to Proposal. Keep the expected value and probability understandable to Sales Manager. Continue through Negotiation where appropriate, using the allowed lifecycle transitions.

    • Record proposal evidence and progress eligible work to Proposal
    • Updates Opportunities, Relationship activities, Record attachments, Operation receipts

Where it usually breaks

And how to keep it from happening.

  • The wrong household. A similar account name can hide an incorrect parent. Check the account code and organization before recording the first conversation.
  • An unexplained forecast. An expected value with no useful activity outcome leaves the manager guessing. Read the evidence and probability together during pipeline review.
  • A repeated action. Inspect the original receipt before repeating a submission. Changed input must not reuse the previous operation key as though it were the same request.
