Systems to connect

  • CAD and slicing tools. Arrange the model-file handoff to the build attachment and agree how the operator identifies the intended revision. Keep printer settings and file preparation owned by the appropriate design and machine tools.
  • Printer controls. If the shop wants machine events to update build progress, scope that connection with the printer provider and rehearse how a reported event identifies the correct build.
  • Incoming inventory. Agree how physical material receipts establish the item’s lot and location in inventory. Reconcile purchase-line quantities with the system or procedure responsible for the stock receipt.
  • Accounting. Define the handoff for supplier costs and customer order values with the accounting team. Agree identifiers and reconciliation before transferring financial information.
  • Shipping. Arrange the link from reviewed production to packing and dispatch in the shop’s shipping process. Decide what evidence the planner checks before marking the customer order Fulfilled.

How connections are governed

Assign an owner to each connection and document which system controls the affected record. Agree credentials through the customer’s normal access process, along with retry behavior and the handling of rejected messages. Rehearse a repeated message and a mismatched record identity before using the connection on a live customer job.

Material posting must retain its single stock effect. Keep external receipts and printer events from duplicating that action. Review the data model with the people who own each connected system.
