What you can do
Invoice the work that was reviewed
Billable work starts with a submission linked to the client accounting document. Accounting Preparer records the applicant, organization and revision, then submits it for independent review. That connection keeps the time submission attached to the financial work it supports when a freelancer handles similar assignments for different clients.
The review decision needs to identify the specific submission, its parent document and the revision that will be invoiced. Accounting Reviewer can approve eligible work or reject it with a reason. Accounting Preparer then follows approved work into the invoicing action and checks its recorded effects before treating the submission as completed.
How the work is organized
- Prepare the submission. Keep draft billable work with its intended accounting document. Use the applicant text to explain who submitted it, while organization membership and the document owner establish access. Keep detailed time evidence with the supporting client work.
- Review independently. Accounting Reviewer examines the submitted revision and records the decision against that parent. A change after review requires a fresh check of the affected scope. A person preparing their own freelance work needs another authorized person to make this decision.
- Invoice eligible work. Accounting Preparer executes approved work with its stable operation reference. Retain the resulting effects and receipt so an interrupted response can be investigated. Repeating the request must resolve to the existing result rather than create another invoice effect.
What to agree during setup
Agree what evidence the reviewer needs for a freelance submission and where detailed time capture will take place. A connected time-recording service needs an explicit mapping and an owner for corrections. Decide how its source references will travel with the supporting documents into the review process.
Use the accounting document amount as the financial context for the rehearsal. Confirm how the reviewer identifies the intended submission revision and how an approved item enters invoicing. Test separate submissions that share a parent and revision: the decision must identify which submission it covers before either can proceed. Establish who handles a rejected submission and what must be checked before corrected work returns for review.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A consultant prepares work for a client engagement and links the submission to that client’s document. Accounting Reviewer approves the submitted revision. Before invoicing, the preparer discovers that the supporting evidence belongs to a different engagement. Stop the action and correct the scope through renewed review; the earlier approval cannot authorize a different parent.
In a separate rehearsal, execute an eligible approved submission and interrupt the response. Locate the operation receipt before retrying. The reviewer should be able to trace the completed effect to the original submission and confirm that the repeat did not invoice the same work again. Keep a rejected example available so the team can explain why it remains outside the invoicing queue.
