Assembly Line Tracking

How do I get started?
Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Assembly Line Tracking for your business. Begin with a familiar product route, an eligible customer order and a dated work order. Rehearse material posting, a serial station pass and a reviewed batch release before expanding the pilot.
What does a station route contain?
A route links a product to a station with its sequence and target takt in seconds. Production Planner uses Submit Station Route to validate the entry and reject sequence conflicts before saving.
What is recorded when a unit passes a station?
Production Operator records the unit serial, station, entry and exit times and a disposition of Pass, Rework or Reject. Process Station Pass checks the entry and refuses invalid or duplicate identities.
What prevents an unsuitable work order from being released?
Release to Production requires Draft work, an Approved or Released customer order, a positive planned quantity, an Available resource and ordered planned dates. A failed check writes nothing, allowing Production Planner to correct the input before trying again.
Can a material issue be reversed?
Yes. Post / Reverse Material Issue routes a Draft issue to posting and a Posted issue to reversal. Reversal restores the corresponding inventory balance. After an uncertain response, check the issue and stock before pressing the action again; a Posted issue selects reversal. Rehearse the full posting and correction cycle with a known component lot during setup.
How do operators report good and scrap output?
Production Operator records good and scrap quantities on the production interval with the work order, operator and start and end times. Ending a valid interval creates or updates Pending output and moves the work into quality review.
Who releases the finished output?
Quality Reviewer uses Release Accepted Batch after reviewing the pending lot and production evidence. Eligible accepted output becomes Released, posts to finished inventory and completes the work order. Held, Rejected and zero-output batches are refused.
How should we read station duration against target takt?
Agree when entry and exit are captured before comparing recorded duration with an operating target. At a shared station, identify the unit’s product with the operator and use that product’s route target. Discuss waiting and rework so the team understands what affected the interval.
Can we connect scanners or another order system?
Yes, as a setup connection. Agree record matching, permitted updates and retry handling, then rehearse the integration with the pilot product and serials. The connections guide describes the handoffs to prepare.
What should we check before the first live shift?
Confirm the operator-to-user links, station availability, route order and component lot balances. Test a refused production release, duplicate pass capture, a material reversal and a refused batch release, then reconcile an accepted run through finished inventory.
