How a Asset Tracking rollout works
Rehearse an identifiable asset from preventive planning through accepted service and reconciled parts usage.
Choose the equipment
Start with tagged assets the operating team can identify physically. Agree names and home locations, then check serial numbers against the register. Select a service case suitable for a complete rehearsal.
Map people and decisions
Have Admin confirm employee-to-user mappings. Name the planner, Technician, Maintenance Approver and Parts Coordinator for the pilot. Agree command authority and restrictions on direct changes to controlled states or stock.
Prepare plans and coverage
Enter the preventive intervals and dates, then confirm meter types, units and action limits. Prepare a ticket and review the warranty approval practice and current validity window before authorization.
Rehearse service and parts
Start eligible work, record the intervention and post the consumed part. Repeat the posting through its supported retry path and confirm that stock changes once. Bring the work to inspection and verify the accepted outcome across the ticket, certificate and asset.
Release the operating cycle
Review the queues using the actual operating accounts. Confirm the owner of due-plan review and reorder follow-up. Expand the scope when the team can explain the evidence and responsibility at each handoff.
What the customer provides
Bring the asset tags and serial numbers, home-location conventions and service practices. Provide the employee identities and people authorized to make maintenance decisions. Include warranty records with their dates and issuers, plus the spare-part catalog with units and reconciled opening balances.
Choose an actual service case and a meter reading that can exercise the action-limit behavior. Identify any external register, purchasing process or reading source that needs a connection, with its owner and permitted update direction.
Changing it afterwards
Review changes to units, thresholds and authorization with the people who depend on them. Preserve record identities when correcting equipment details so earlier service remains attached. Rehearse changed commands and stock-posting behavior before using them across the full equipment list. Follow Roles and access and the data model when assessing a change’s effect on existing history.
