Production support equipment
Production teams depend on support equipment whose maintenance may be coordinated separately from the production schedule. A compressor or handling device can need service because a preventive date is approaching or because its usage reaches an action limit. Asset Tracking keeps that operating context attached to the equipment and carries the resulting maintenance work through an assigned ticket and inspection decision.
How Asset Tracking is set up for you
Preventive review
Maintenance Planner records day-based or hour-based intervals with last service and next due dates. Upcoming plans help the team decide what work to prepare.
Usage evidence
Technician captures the meter type and unit with each dated reading. A value reaching the agreed action limit flags the selected asset for maintenance attention.
Controlled return
Maintenance Approver accepts the completed inspection before the execution process closes the ticket and returns the asset to Active.
Start with a support asset whose tag and service practice are understood by the operating team. Capture a usage reading below its action limit, then rehearse a reading at the limit. Confirm that the stored values refer to the correct asset and that the maintenance flag applies to that equipment.
Maintenance Planner reviews the observation and prepares the appropriate ticket. Follow the coverage check and authorization path, record the Technician's work and review any consumed parts before inspection acceptance. Check that the accepted service history retains the asset and ticket links.
Agree how the production team learns about the asset's operating state through its existing coordination practice. Any connection to production planning is a separate setup decision. Use [Condition to maintenance attention](/asset-tracking/processes/condition-to-maintenance) to rehearse the observation and response before adding other meter types or expanding to more equipment.
Features to start with
Maintenance Work

Asset Register
Identify equipment by its tag and serial number, then follow its operating state and maintenance history.
Preventive Maintenance
Record the service interval and next due date against the asset the team will maintain.
