Who it's for

Shared workshops

A shared workshop can have similar compressors, test fixtures and powered equipment in different home locations. Staff need to identify the right item before recording a reading or requesting service. Asset Tracking gives Asset Manager a tagged equipment register and links each maintenance ticket to the asset being worked on. The maintenance team can then follow that equipment through authorization, execution and inspection acceptance.

How Asset Tracking is set up for you

Recognizable equipment

Record the tag and serial number with a home location that workshop staff understand. Confirm those details at the physical asset before starting work.

Planned attention

Maintain preventive intervals and next due dates, then review the work required for the upcoming cycle with Maintenance Planner.

Explainable service

Retain the Technician's work description and accepted service outcome against the same ticket and asset so later staff can reconstruct the intervention.

Choose a compressor that the workshop team can identify and service during a complete rehearsal. Confirm its tag and serial number, save a preventive plan and prepare the maintenance request. Name the Technician and Maintenance Approver before attempting the authorization handoff.

Use approved coverage that spans the operating day, then start the work and record what was performed. If a part is consumed, post it through the parts action and review the stock effect. Accept the completed inspection and confirm the closed ticket, service certificate and Active asset together.

Repeat the initial identification step with similar equipment nearby. This helps staff recognize why a familiar name is insufficient when attaching evidence to an asset. Follow the [implementation phases](/asset-tracking/implementation) to agree naming, access and coverage practice before extending the register across other workshop areas.
