Systems to connect

Agree how asset identities, readings and replenishment decisions connect to the customer's existing systems.

  • Asset Tracking
  • Equipment and finance registers
  • Meter-reading sources
  • Purchasing systems
  • Employee identity sources

Systems to connect

  • Equipment and finance registers. Set up a connection when another system owns the equipment list or financial asset record. Agree how its identifiers map to the tracked asset and which system may update descriptive details.
  • Meter-reading sources. Connect an external reading source where the team needs it, preserving the asset identity, meter type, unit and observation date. Validate the mapping before readings can influence maintenance attention.
  • Purchasing systems. Carry reorder attention into the customer’s purchasing process through a separately configured connection. Agree the part identity and unit so the requested quantity refers to the intended material.
  • Employee identity sources. Map operating accounts to the employees who receive assignments, perform work or issue coverage records. Coordinate identity changes without disconnecting historical work.

How connections are governed

Agree the source owner, matching rule and permitted write direction before enabling each connection. Rehearse a valid update and an invalid reference using the intended operating accounts. A reading imported against the wrong asset can lead the team to service unrelated equipment.

Preserve exactly-once consumption behavior when connecting parts activity. Historical usage and opening balances need a reconciliation rule so imported history does not reduce stock again. Human maintenance decisions remain with the designated roles, and each external system requires its own authorization. Include these boundaries in the implementation plan.
