What you can do

Keep the operating record clear

A shopper selects two print variants, each with its own quantity and unit price. The basket belongs to one catalog and currency. Address details, the chosen shipping method and applicable tax settings matter before a purchase is recorded. A basket can remain active, enter checkout, convert or be abandoned. Those states let customer service distinguish an unfinished visit from an order.

Customer (external) builds the basket under one catalog and currency. Each basket item preserves its selected variant, quantity and unit price. Customer Service Rep can inspect an abandoned basket, while Merchant Owner controls the shipping, payment and tax settings used when the shopper checks out.

How the work is organized

  • Selection. Keep the variant and quantity on each basket item; compare its saved unit price with the eventual order line.
  • Identity. Link the bidder or session to the basket and use the shopper address selected for checkout.
  • Terms. Review the catalog currency, shipping method, tax rate and discount eligibility before recording the sale.

What to agree during setup

Agree how guest checkout is handled and when a shopper is linked to a bidder record. Check shipping method availability by catalog and destination. Decide who checks tax rate effective dates and how a price change after a basket item was added is explained. Keep basket follow-up separate from a completed sale.

During the pilot, assign the exception owner and record the decision on the related order or catalog. Check the next handoff against the saved status, date and linked records before more staff start using the process.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Use one shopper and one shipping address to rehearse selection, checkout and a sale. Compare basket item quantity and unit price with the eventual order line. Then leave a second basket unfinished and verify that the team follows that record without treating it as paid.

Use the same case to rehearse access. Have the next owner explain the saved record, perform the permitted action and show the resulting status to the following owner. Correct a broken handoff before expanding the pilot.

What your team sees

  • Open Baskets — Shows the cases and current status for this module’s owner.
  • Abandoned Basket Follow-up — Separates cases that need a second check or decision.

Follow the work through

See the operating process for the connected handoff. Implementation gives the pilot sequence, and roles sets access before people start editing records.
