Lot-controlled storage operations
Storage teams handling dated or restricted stock need to check more than the on-hand quantity. Automated Storage (AS/RS) records lot status and expiry context alongside the item and location. Inventory Clerk uses that context when preparing a reservation, while Inventory Supervisor reviews stock work and investigates failed receipts.
How Automated Storage (AS/RS) is set up for you
Eligibility review
Available, Quarantined, Expired, Consumed and Blocked distinguish recorded lot conditions. Agree how those conditions and dates affect the actual operating eligibility check.
Location context
Keep the storage location's eligibility note and organization clear. A cold-room location can be represented as storage context; any environmental monitoring belongs to a separately configured system.
Evidence continuity
Attach the relevant document or certificate reference to the request. Preserve decisions and signed movements so an authorized reviewer can explain the quantity result.

Select a lot-controlled item and an eligible storage area with a known received date and expiry context. Rehearse a reservation against an eligible lot and a refusal case where the lot's condition does not permit the requested work. Confirm the treatment of an expired hold before counting its quantity as free.
Have a different person review the robot task from the person who created it. After the approved stock action, compare its movement evidence with the authorized units. Include a quantity mismatch so the team sees a failed verification leave the request unchanged.
Agree how supporting document links are accessed and which organization may read them. Use [stock execution and verification](/automated-storage-asrs/processes/stock-execution-and-verification) to trace the accepted case. Before widening the scope, ask the Auditor to explain a compensating reversal without relying on an overwritten original movement or a verbal explanation of the balance.
