Integrations and source ownership

• Laboratory system. Set up the chosen laboratory connection if specimen progress is exchanged electronically. Agree accession matching and which source confirms receipt, testing or rejection. Results and their clinical interpretation remain with the designated laboratory and responsible clinician.
• Billing and accounting system. Connect approved service details to the system that issues invoices. Agree who confirms issue before the charge is marked Invoiced, and use the billing source for invoice allocations and outstanding balance inquiries.
• Payment source. Configure receipt confirmation from the center’s payment provider, bank or established finance process. Retain a useful source reference and reconcile refunds separately. Confirm money against that source before recording the receipt as Confirmed.
• Pharmacy or stock system. If the center exchanges dispensation data with another system, agree medication names, lot identifiers and quantity units. Keep inventory balances and purchasing under the designated stock owner.

Choose an owner for each connection and agree the source record, field mapping and response to uncertain outcomes. Rehearse a repeated receipt, a specimen with an unmatched accession number and a correction to medication units. Resolve exceptions against the original source before sending another event or changing a clinical record.

Grant only the access required for the connection and keep credentials in the approved configuration. Review patient information shared with each destination. Connection availability and behavior depend on the selected provider and the configuration agreed with the center.

Prepare the pilot with the person who owns each source.
