Systems to connect
These connections are setup choices. Agree the source system and verify the chosen mapping before enabling scheduled exchanges.
- Customer and supplier order systems. Map party and item identities to order headers and lines. Agree which system owns quantities, required dates and cancellations. Review an incoming order change before it affects a released production plan.
- Accounting. Agree which production and purchase information finance needs and how it will be reconciled. The accounting system owns its financial postings; a local production completion should not be treated as confirmation of an external posting.
- Laboratory results. Keep test results in the laboratory’s system and agree how Quality Reviewer locates the applicable result for a batch. The reviewer retains the accepted-output decision after examining the required evidence.
- Scales and equipment readings. Agree the device, unit and operator confirmation before using measured values in batch input or output capture. Rehearse a disconnected device and an unexpected unit before the floor relies on the connection.
How connections are governed
Choose a responsible person for each connection and define the source record identity, mapping and retry behavior. Keep credentials in the approved secret store. Test repeated delivery and rejection cases before enabling automatic activity; a repeated external event must not produce another material withdrawal or accepted inventory receipt.
Reconcile what the source sent with what was accepted and what still needs attention. Operator and Quality Reviewer should be able to find the source of a quantity without assuming that a local status confirms delivery to another system. Keep connection errors visible to the person who can resolve them.
Use Implementation to agree the pilot and its acceptance checks. Start with the manual batch cycle when an optional connection is still being prepared.
