Put an AI agent to work in BOM Management

Use the skill instructions with Proto to configure BOM Management around your real assembly work. Check the suggested configuration against the current item and revision records before applying it.

Set it up

  1. Teach your agent ERP.AI

Load the ERP.AI skill and paste the output into your agent. It explains how to read and update records in your workspace.

    curl -fsSL https://www.erp.ai/skill.md
  2. Give it a role

Assign the agent its own user and one of the 5 roles. It gets exactly the access that role has, and no more.

  3. Check what it can reach

Confirm which records, actions and connections the agent can use in your workspace before you point it at real data.

  4. Review its work and usage

Check the drafts and changes it proposes, and watch its usage receipts as you give it more to do. Agent work uses prepaid credits.

What the agent can do

  • Production Planner: Prepare a draft structure from your selected items and quantities, identify missing revision dates and explain what blocks work-order release.
  • Production Operator: Help prepare an identified material issue or summarize the operator's recorded intervals using the operator's linked user account.
  • Quality Reviewer: Collect the Pending batch and its work state for inspection review without deciding that the output is accepted.
  • Manager: Summarize the change reason and affected structure for the engineering decision.

What stays with a person

  • The assistant cannot supply a person's engineering approval or a physical inspection result.
  • Ask the planner to confirm revision instructions and the stock owner to reconcile physical material movements.
  • Agree role permissions before allowing the assistant to act on business records.
  • External design, stock and accounting sources need their own agreed connections.

Machine work and model use follow the account's metering rules. Review [pricing](/bom-management/pricing) before enabling recurring automation, and [implementation](/bom-management/implementation) for the operating rehearsal.
