Systems to connect
- Source control. Configure a convention that carries the defect issue key or corrective task reference into the change description. Agree which record receives the link back so a reviewer can locate the actual correction.
- Build and test systems. Configure how an external run result is retained as evidence. Keep the tested change, reported behavior and result clear. QA Engineer still makes the independent verification decision for the defect.
- File storage. Configure access to screenshots, reports and other supporting files. Check the parent record identifier and the audience permitted to open each file URL before using it in a review.
- Customer support channels. Agree how incoming reports become project defects with enough reproduction context. Identify who chooses the project and severity before the triage action runs.
- Time or finance systems. Configure any transfer of accepted effort separately, with a defined project and task mapping. Agree how Billable and Non-Billable are interpreted by the receiving system and how transferred records are reconciled.
How connections are governed
Admin manages authorized access setup, while Project Manager agrees project mappings and QA Engineer defines the evidence needed for verification. Keep private credentials in the customer’s approved administration process. Review the exact record references and permitted access before enabling transfers.
Rehearse a missing source record, an inaccessible evidence file and a repeated incoming report. Define how the connection detects and handles those cases. Local triage and time-entry receipts describe their own workflow results; confirm an external system’s outcome separately before reporting a transfer as complete. Use implementation to include these checks in the pilot.
