How a Construction Punch List rollout works
Pilot one site scope through finding, sign-off, billing and collection.
Set the operating scope
Pick one active project and a bounded work package. Name the project manager, site superintendent, foreman, inspector and collection owner.
Prepare source records
Reconcile project codes, package numbers, team members, contract value, budget hours and open findings. Match attachments to their exact parent records.
Configure the pilot
Agree who records findings, who approves sign-off, who invoices approved tasks and who marks payments Received. Review the saved lists with each responsible person.
Rehearse the guards
Approve a billable punch item with hours and a package, then try one with missing hours. Invoice an approved task with amount and package, then try one without an amount. Inspect every operation receipt.
Review and release
Compare package delivery totals with source labor and expenses. Check task amounts and payment references with the billing owner. Release the agreed scope after the team signs off the actual cases.
What the customer provides
- Project and work package identifiers, owners, dates, contract value and budget hours.
- Crew list, role assignments, rates and active organizations.
- Open punch items, site photos, labor and expense records.
- Closeout tasks, invoice references, payment due dates and review policy.
Changing it afterwards
Review changes to package structure with the project manager before moving live records. Test status and permission changes using the same approved and failed cases from the pilot. Keep earlier decisions and receipts associated with the original source item. Expand by site or package after the first closeout can be traced from finding through payment.
