Multi-entity groups
A group with several legal entities needs to know which organization owns a matter and which board considered a resolution. The organization link on both records gives the team that starting point. Team members can be linked to their organization, while the matter owner remains a named person responsible for the work.
How Corporate Governance is set up for you
Entity context
Use the organization's stable code and name when importing old matters, then check each linked resolution against the same entity.
Board decisions
Record meeting reference, resolution text, quorum and dates with the resolution considered by that organization.
Cross-entity work
Keep each counterparty and matter relationship explicit so similarly named entities are not confused.
Review trail
Read conflict decisions, revision reviews and operation receipts beside the matter they concern.
A group with several legal entities needs to know which organization owns a matter and which board considered a resolution. The organization link on both records gives the team that starting point. Team members can be linked to their organization, while the matter owner remains a named person responsible for the work.
Start with one organization and a current matter that has a real board decision. Link the relevant client, owner and team members. Prepare a resolution with its meeting reference and text, then ask the supervising attorney to review its evidence. Check that the organization on the resolution matches the organization on the matter. Record the decision in the state and date fields the team agrees to use.
Next, include an exception: a similar client name or an uncertain operation result. The reviewer should be able to find the conflict evidence or original operation key without relying on an email thread. Once the first entity's records reconcile, bring in another organization's matters with distinct codes and access scope. Decide how auditors will read historical records across entities before the wider import.
