Procedure-focused practice

A procedure-focused practice needs an encounter record that can carry the planned visit, actual timing and related clinical work. Each procedure visit uses a consultation record with a patient, clinician and visit type. Notes, observations, pathology specimens and prescriptions link back to that encounter, so the team can review the work as one case.

How Cosmetic Surgery Practice is set up for you

Confirm the team

A care team assignment gives the patient and clinician an access purpose and effective period. Clinical privileges hold verification evidence and dates for the clinician.

Track the visit

Planned time, start time, end time and status distinguish a scheduled procedure from one in progress or awaiting review.

Record supporting work

A specimen has a type, collection date, accession number and processing state. A prescription records medication, lot, quantity, unit and authorizer.

Keep follow-up visible

A care task assigns the next action to a team member with a due date and an explicit state.

Use a representative procedure visit and name the clinician who will document it. Confirm that the patient assignment and clinician privilege cover the intended date. Create the consultation and move it through arrival and start. Attach a specimen and record its collection date; later update its accession number and state as the processing information returns. Enter a prescription only when relevant and check its authorizing team member.

Before release, have the Clinical Reviewer find the note, observations, specimen and prescription from the consultation. Rehearse a Rejected specimen and an Escalated care task so the team knows who takes the next step. Agree how external lab information gets entered; the [integrations page](/cosmetic-surgery-practice/integrations) covers connection planning. The [procedure support process](/cosmetic-surgery-practice/processes/procedure-support) shows the record handoff.
