Who it's for

Law firms

A firm can keep each client engagement under a numbered matter while a coordinator manages the case detail and a Supervising Attorney makes the independent decision. Organization, type and owner links give the team a clear case context before documents and deadlines accumulate.

How Court Case Management is set up for you

Intake

Assign the firm organization, matter type and attorney owner when the case opens.

Working file

Keep event lines, source references and supporting attachments beside the matter rather than in an unrelated document list.

Review

Present the exact case revision and evidence reference to a separate reviewer, then retain the reason for approval, return or rejection.

Follow-up

Give each filing or correction a due date and team member, including work arising after an outcome changes.

A firm can keep each client engagement under a numbered matter while a coordinator manages the case detail and a Supervising Attorney makes the independent decision. Organization, type and owner links give the team a clear case context before documents and deadlines accumulate.

Start with one practice group and a bounded set of active matters. Agree how case numbers map from the existing source and which organization owns each engagement. Import the team and active matter types before assigning cases. Then select a matter with a document correction and a real deadline for rehearsal. The coordinator should be able to identify the owner, the due item and the evidence under review without leaving the case workspace.

Review a returned decision as carefully as an approval. The first decision remains tied to the submitted revision; a corrected matter comes back with a new revision. For delivered work, compare the approved version with the operation receipt and the delivery reference. If an external filing or document exchange is involved, establish the external source of truth and reference before opening that connection.

The firm can use status reports to discuss active work and deadline exposure. A closed status should be backed by the decision and result record. Preserve older matter types and decisions when the practice group changes its process so completed work remains understandable.
