What you can do

Decide on the revision the customer will receive

A furniture quote can change while a reviewer is reading it. A different finish may alter the selling price, or a larger room may need more chairs. The Pricing Reviewer therefore decides on an identified revision. The review records the decision and its reason, with the reviewer and decision time retained alongside the quote.

Quote review decisions are Approve, Reject and Return. Approval permits the eligible quote to advance toward acceptance. Rejection records that the submitted commercial scope cannot proceed. A return asks for correction and another eligible review. Neither the quote preparer’s access nor an administrator’s access replaces the independent pricing decision.

How the work is organized

  • Find eligible work. Inspect quotes in Review and room packages in Submitted. Check the quoted revision, price book reference and validity before deciding on the selling scope.
  • Record a reason. Use the guarded review action to approve, reject or return the quote revision. The decision retains its source revision and operation identity so later readers can tell exactly what was reviewed.
  • Protect acceptance. Customer acceptance follows an approved, current quote within its validity window. An expired request or a decision tied to an older revision cannot authorize the current commercial commitment.

What to agree during setup

Name a Pricing Reviewer who is independent of the quote preparer. Agree the evidence needed to explain discounts and room package changes. The review reason should be understandable to a colleague who did not attend the customer meeting. A brief explanation of the approved finish substitution is more useful than a reason that says only checked.

Agree how the team handles Return decisions. The specialist needs a clear correction request and an owner for resolving it. Also decide how acceptance evidence reaches the Quote Specialist and how they confirm it belongs to the approved revision. These operating choices should be rehearsed before the team handles a live customer response.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Take a reception package whose customer requests a different upholstery finish after pricing. Open the earlier revision in a reviewer session, then make an authorized correction that changes the quote revision. Attempt to approve from the old session. The request should be rejected as stale and leave the newer quote unchanged.

Now review the current scope with a different person from the preparer. Record a reason that explains the finish change and approve the eligible quote. Before recording customer acceptance, check the validity date again. Repeat the approval request and confirm that the operation evidence does not multiply merely because someone retried the action after an uncertain response.

What your team sees

  • Quote Review Queue — Quotes awaiting a pricing decision, with their revisions, totals and validity dates.
  • Room Package Inbox — Submitted room packages whose commercial scope needs review.
  • Review Decision History — Recorded decisions with the reviewer and reason for each quote revision.
