How do I get started?
Click Get started, then use Proto to configure CPQ for Industrial Automation for your business. Pilot a controller quote with an eligible customer, a compatibility request, priced lines and an independent reviewer. Include customer acceptance and a rehearsal of the intended order connection.
What automation details belong with the quote?
Record the required protocol, IO points, proposed controller model and required date on the compatibility request. Link it to the quote and operating organization, then attach the evidence Pricing Reviewer needs to judge the request.
Who decides compatibility?
Pricing Reviewer decides the submitted compatibility revision independently. Quote Specialist prepares and submits the request. Complete the Approved request through its guarded action before option price commitment.
How is the quote amount calculated?
Pricing multiplies each line quantity by its unit price in USD and subtracts the line discount in USD. It sums the resulting net lines into the quote amount after checking the draft, expected revision, price book revision and line values.
What happens when the reviewer returns an offer?
Pricing Reviewer records Return with a reason. Quote Specialist uses that reason to prepare the correction. Agree how returned offers re-enter pricing during setup before requesting another decision. The earlier review history stays with the quote.
Can a customer accept an expired offer?
The acceptance action checks expiry and expected revision. Resolve the offer through the team’s fresh preparation and review process before recording acceptance of a valid Approved revision.
How does an accepted quote reach the order system?
Configure the downstream order connection during setup. Quote Specialist requests handoff for the Accepted revision, and the operation receipt retains the real result and external reference. Without that connection, the receipt stays Pending.
What happens if accepted scope changes?
Use the correction action and have Pricing Reviewer authorize the compensating action. Keep the original acceptance and operation evidence available while the team follows the changed scope through its order connection.
How does the team investigate an uncertain result?
Open Receipt Exceptions and compare the recorded claim with the quote, its lines and review decisions. Reconciliation can establish Completed from supporting evidence or flag the discrepancy for review with a concrete reason. It never repeats the external effect.
Which evidence can the team share?
Quote attachments have Internal or Shared visibility, an evidence type and upload ownership. Agree the access rules and customer-document delivery process during setup. Follow the implementation plan to rehearse them.
