What you can do
Make the recorded outcome explainable
Quote work leaves evidence beyond the final status. Quote Specialist attaches files with a title, evidence type and visibility. Review decisions identify the reviewer and source revision. Operation receipts identify the requested action, expected revision, result state and any failure reason or external reference.
Pricing Reviewer uses that history when scope needs correction or a receipt needs investigation. Draft work and accepted commercial scope require different handling. Accepted scope uses reviewer-approved compensation while preserving the evidence of the original commitment and subsequent action.
How the work is organized
- Quote attachments. Keep technical and commercial evidence linked to the relevant quote. Record who uploaded the file and when. Choose Internal or Shared visibility deliberately, using the agreed document-delivery process when material must reach another system or the customer.
- Authorized correction. Use the correction or cancellation action for the current scope. Unexecuted Draft work can be canceled. Accepted work needs Pricing Reviewer to authorize the compensating action before the team treats the changed scope as resolved.
- Receipt reconciliation. Inspect pending or failed receipts and receipts needing review against the local quote, its lines and its review decisions. A supported outcome can become Completed. A concrete discrepancy stays flagged for review so the owner can investigate it.
What to agree during setup
Agree the evidence types the team will use for controller compatibility, price support and customer acceptance. Decide which files remain Internal and which may be marked Shared. Keep document ownership clear when evidence comes from an external engineering or customer system.
Define what supports completion of each operation and how a reviewer handles an ambiguous outcome. Reconciliation checks recorded claims against evidence; arrange any external investigation with the connection owner. Agree the compensating action for accepted scope with the downstream order process before using correction on a live customer commitment.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Use an accepted rehearsal quote whose handoff receipt has an uncertain result. Pricing Reviewer opens the quote, priced lines, review decision and receipt together. Compare the receipt’s expected revision and claimed effects with the retained records. If evidence supports the claim, verify the Completed result. If it conflicts, keep the receipt flagged for review with a reason the quote owner can act on.
Repeat reconciliation and check that it never sends another downstream operation. Then request a correction to accepted scope. Have Pricing Reviewer authorize the compensating action and follow its evidence while keeping the original acceptance and handoff history accessible. Use a separate Draft quote to rehearse cancellation of unexecuted work.
Auditor should be able to reconstruct both rehearsals from the decision reasons, attachment ownership and operation results. The team can then distinguish a completed effect from a pending investigation and explain why the changed scope was authorized.
What your team sees
- Receipt Exceptions — Actions with unresolved outcomes and concrete failure or review reasons.
- Shared Quote Evidence — Quote files marked Shared for the team’s document-handling process.
- Decision History — Reasons and source revisions supporting approval and recovery decisions.
Follow the work through
Follow handoff and recovery. The reports page covers receipt exceptions and evidence questions, and the roles page supports an access rehearsal.
