What you can do

Make the offered machine clear

A price is useful only when the team agrees what machine the customer is buying. Quote Specialist records the power supply, cycle rate, safety option and required date in a configuration linked to the quote. The configuration also carries the selling organization, status and revision so the review addresses an identifiable request.

Pricing Reviewer examines the submitted configuration independently. A decision records when the configuration was accepted or rejected. Completion follows the approved configuration through its own guarded action. The parent quote retains its commercial state and amounts throughout that configuration decision. Include any priced option in the quote lines before requesting the next pricing calculation.

How the work is organized

  • Draft preparation. Quote Specialist checks the customer’s requirement and records the operating details in the draft configuration. Attach supporting information to the parent quote so the reviewer can understand the requested safety option and operating conditions. Resolve unclear requirements while the configuration is still being prepared.
  • Revision-specific review. Submission moves the configuration from Draft to Submitted through a guarded action. Pricing Reviewer checks the submitted revision and records the decision. A changed request needs the authorized revision process; an earlier approval cannot settle a later configuration merely because the parent quote is the same.
  • Controlled completion. An Approved configuration can proceed to Completed through the configuration action. That result records progress for the machine request. Quote pricing and quote approval remain separate actions owned by their commercial process, with their own expected revision and evidence checks.

What to agree during setup

Agree how to write power supply requirements and the unit used for cycle rate. Decide what supporting evidence a reviewer needs for each safety option. Define who clarifies an ambiguous customer request and how the required date should be interpreted in the selling organization’s time zone.

Rehearse the review sequence with the machinery specialists who will use it. Make the relationship between a configuration and its commercial lines clear, especially where a changed option changes the amount quoted. Record the agreed procedure before the team starts customer release.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Use a rehearsal configuration for a machine requiring a 480 V supply and a cycle rate of 20 per minute. Quote Specialist adds the safety option and required date, then submits the current revision. Pricing Reviewer checks the supporting attachment and makes a reasoned decision on that exact request.

Repeat the action with an older expected revision and confirm that the request stops. Complete the approved configuration and compare the quote’s commercial status and net USD amount before and after. The configuration action must leave those values unchanged. If the customer later changes the safety option, prepare a revised request and update the commercial draft through the appropriate guarded path.

What your team sees

  • Machine Configuration Drafts — Prepare the machine’s operating details and required date before submission.
  • Configuration Review Inbox — Pricing Reviewer examines submitted configurations and their revisions.
  • Configurations by Decision — Follow approved, rejected and completed configuration records by parent quote.
