What you can do

Carry the accepted offer into the next system

Quote Specialist records customer acceptance against the approved quote revision. The acceptance action checks that the request is current and within the quote’s validity. The accepted time identifies when that commercial commitment was recorded, while the supporting evidence remains attached to the quote.

The downstream handoff uses the Accepted quote and its preserved lines. It checks the expected revision and the configured order connection, then records an operation receipt for the handoff. A real external reference explains what the receiving system created or acknowledged. Pending work remains visible until that outcome can be reconciled.

How the work is organized

  • Customer acceptance. Quote Specialist confirms the customer’s decision and submits it through the guarded action. Internal pricing approval and customer acceptance remain separate events in the commercial process.
  • Accepted scope. The accepted revision and lines provide the handoff content. Corrections to executed scope use the authorized compensation procedure and preserve the original evidence.
  • Downstream evidence. The operation receipt identifies the action and expected revision, with its result state and external reference. Stable operation identity supports safe retry handling during the connection rehearsal.

What to agree during setup

Agree what evidence the team requires to record customer acceptance. Define how that evidence is attached and who may see it. Quote Specialist should check the validity date and current revision before recording the decision, particularly when the customer responds after a proposal has been revised.

Choose the downstream order system and establish its connection as part of implementation. Map the accepted quote and its lines to that system’s identifiers. Agree what acknowledgement counts as a completed handoff and who follows a request that remains Pending. Keep the receiving system’s responsibilities clear after it accepts the commercial scope.

Rehearse correction of accepted work with Pricing Reviewer. A customer may change the site scope after acceptance, so the team needs a controlled way to approve the compensating action and retain the earlier decision. Check the operation evidence before retrying an uncertain handoff or making another downstream request.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Use an Approved quote whose validity date has not passed. Quote Specialist records the customer’s acceptance and confirms the Accepted state and acceptance time. Request a handoff through the pilot connection, then match the operation receipt’s external reference to the actual receiving record.

Repeat the same handoff request for that quote revision and inspect the receiving system for duplicate orders as well as checking the local receipt. With no downstream connection configured, confirm that the receipt stays Pending without an external reference. Test a connection failure separately and inspect its recorded result and reason before choosing the next action. Finally, try an expired acceptance request and confirm that the guard prevents the team from committing an out-of-date offer.

What your team sees

  • Accepted Quotes — Accepted commercial work with its revision, acceptance time and USD amount.
  • Receipt Follow-up — Pending, Failed and needs-review operations; use the action and quote to find the handoff being investigated.
  • Completed Operations — Completed actions with their effect and external-reference evidence.
