Architecture practices
An architecture practice may pursue several commissions from the same client at once. Each commission needs its own opportunity while the account remains the shared counterparty. The practice principal can compare expected fees and close dates without losing the proposal and contact history behind each pursuit.
How Architecture Firms CRM is set up for you
Client relationships
Keep the account contact, address and eligibility note with the organization that owns the relationship.
Fee pipeline
Name an owner and expected value for each opportunity, then use its status for pipeline review.
Design proposals
Link design RF ps, submission revisions and attachments to the pursuit they support.
Independent review
Record who reviewed the proposal, which source revision they saw and why they decided.
An architecture practice may pursue several commissions from the same client at once. Each commission needs its own opportunity while the account remains the shared counterparty. The practice principal can compare expected fees and close dates without losing the proposal and contact history behind each pursuit.
Choose a current civic or cultural commission and one active client account. Map the practice organization and the staff who will own, prepare and review the pursuit. Enter its expected close date and fee value, then add a meeting and a due follow-up task. Create a design RFP under that opportunity with the site and submission due date. Rehearse the Draft to Submitted action at the current revision, and read the operation receipt before handing it to a reviewer.
The principal should also rehearse a customer loss. The internal proposal may have received an Approve decision, while the customer can still award the work elsewhere. The opportunity's Lost status and loss reason are the customer outcome; the review decision remains the practice's own evidence. This distinction keeps both records useful during a later pipeline review.
Agree who changes account details, who can qualify pursuits, who can submit RF ps and who records the client's final answer. Use [Implementation](/crm-for-architecture-firms/implementation) to plan the first operating cycle and [Data model](/crm-for-architecture-firms/data-model) to map existing account and pursuit records.
