What you can do
Make the audience decision reviewable
Customer segment work records the audience being prepared for a relationship opportunity. The Relationship Owner enters the segment name, consent basis, qualified-member count and evaluation time. Those details give the Sales Manager a concrete submission to assess before the approved segment operation proceeds.
The segment follows Draft, Submitted, Approved, Rejected and Completed states. Review concerns belong to the exact submitted revision. The owner can therefore explain which audience evaluation was considered, why it was approved or rejected and what happened when the approved work was completed. The segment stays linked to its opportunity and operating organization throughout that handoff.
How the work is organized
- Audience preparation. Give the segment a name that describes its intended use. Record the consent basis and qualified-member count with the evaluation time so the reviewer knows which audience assessment supports the request.
- Independent decision. Submit the prepared revision for the Sales Manager to approve, reject or return with a reason. Keep the decision and supporting evidence together. A change to the underlying evaluation needs a review of the corresponding revision before execution.
- Completion evidence. The Relationship Owner completes eligible Approved work through the guarded action. Actor, organization and revision are checked again, and the operation receipt retains the result for later reconciliation.
What to agree during setup
Agree the source system that owns audience membership and consent collection. Decide how the Relationship Owner obtains a trustworthy evaluation time and qualified-member count from that source. Where supporting evidence is needed, attach it to the opportunity and identify the segment evaluation clearly in its title and evidence type.
Define the approval standard with the Sales Manager. A recorded consent basis must be understandable in the context of the intended use; a segment name alone does not explain that decision. Arrange any campaign or audience-destination connection during setup, including who confirms the downstream result and how the team resolves an incomplete operation.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A Relationship Owner prepares a segment for consumers who opted into a home-comfort consultation follow-up. They record the source consent basis, the qualified-member count and the evaluation time against the relevant opportunity. The Sales Manager opens the Submitted revision and checks whether the evidence supports the intended audience use.
Approve the eligible case, then have the Relationship Owner complete the approved operation and inspect its receipt. Repeat with an omitted consent basis and confirm the submission cannot advance. Change the evaluation during review and require the reviewer to assess the current revision. When comparing several segments, keep their counts separate unless the audience source has established how overlapping membership is handled.
