Systems to connect
- Client communication. Decide whether email and calendar history will be entered as relationship activities or supplied by a separately configured connection.
- Matter management. When accepted work moves into a matter system, agree which opportunity and intake identifiers travel with it and who confirms receipt.
- Conflict sources. If the firm uses another conflict database, agree how its result is reviewed and recorded on the matter intakes decision.
- Document storage. Agree which files belong on record attachments and when a file should be marked Internal or Shared.
How connections are governed
Assign an owner for each connection and define the record that confirms a handoff. Keep the opportunity and intake identifiers with any external matter reference. Test a rejected intake and a failed operation before routine use. The team should reconcile exceptions from the linked record and receipt rather than treating an outgoing request as a completed result. Implementation starts with the local records.
