What you can do
Decide the version the customer actually considered
Relationship Owner submits the proposal scope and next activity for the current opportunity. The guarded submission locks the revision and records an independent decision before advancing the commercial stage. Sales Manager should be able to identify the offer being reviewed and the evidence supporting it without reconstructing the conversation from an earlier draft.
A proposal does not by itself mean negotiation has started. Record Negotiation only when that event actually occurs. The distinction helps the team understand why an opportunity moved and what follow-up remains, while preserving the proposal evidence and its review decision.
Closing the customer outcome requires verified acceptance or loss evidence. Relationship Owner submits it, and an eligible independent Sales Manager verifies the exact revision. Won records the won date; Lost records the loss reason. The prior expected value and activity evidence remain available for later review rather than being rewritten to make the closed result look different.
How the work is organized
- Proposal preparation. Relationship Owner supplies the scope and next activity. The action checks the current revision so an older request cannot advance a changed opportunity.
- Independent decision. Sales Manager decides eligible proposal and outcome evidence through guarded actions. Read access to the underlying decision records is separate from the authority to invoke those actions.
- Retained history. Review reasons and operation receipts remain linked to the opportunity. The closed outcome preserves the earlier expected value and the activities used to reach the decision.
What to agree during setup
Agree what constitutes a reviewable proposal scope and where the supporting document is attached. Name the independent Sales Manager for the pilot and rehearse a returned or rejected decision. The preparer needs a clear explanation of what must change before asking for another review.
Define the customer evidence used for a Won or Lost outcome. Choose the source of acceptance documents and decide how the loss reason is recorded. Keep the CRM outcome separate from external transaction-completion steps, which belong to the services and procedures the brokerage connects during setup.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Use the buyer’s reviewed property visit as context for a proposal. Relationship Owner records the proposed scope and next contact. Sales Manager reviews the exact revision, and the accepted proposal moves into the appropriate commercial stage with a receipt.
Then record a real negotiation event before using Negotiation. Submit verified customer acceptance and have a distinct Sales Manager review the current revision. Inspect the Won date, prior expected value and retained activity trail. In a separate case, record a Lost outcome with a concrete reason and confirm that its evidence remains available.
Try a stale revision and the preparer’s identity as reviewer. Both must be refused. Repeat a successful outcome request and verify that the original result is recovered without another commercial effect or a rewrite of the evidence.
