What you can do

Give recurring work an agreed basis

A subscription contract belongs to a subscriber and can identify its contact, owner, currency, start date and end date. Its contract lines identify the product, quantity, unit price and billing frequency. Those lines carry their own active dates and status, so the team can see which product is intended for a given recurring cycle. The contract also holds renewal notice settings and a next billing date where used.

The contract distinguishes draft terms, a signature pending, an active agreement, renewal and end states. Subscription Manager should use the currently agreed version when planning future cycles. Sales Rep can answer customer questions about the promised product and price from the same linked records.

How the work is organized

  • Agreement dates. Check the contract period against the first and last intended curation periods.
  • Product commitments. Keep each recurring product and quantity on a contract line with its billing frequency.
  • Renewal review. Use end date, notice days and renewal setting to prepare the next customer conversation.

What to agree during setup

Decide who drafts subscription terms, who confirms customer acceptance, and whether renewal is handled by a new agreement or a recorded continuation. Agree how monthly, quarterly, annual and on-delivery billing apply to the products you sell. Set the price book and currency policy before transferring a quoted offer into a live contract. A recurring cycle should be planned against a specific contract line, not just an account name.

Check the handoff on an actual case

A subscriber chooses a monthly product for a defined term. Subscription Manager attaches the product line, quantity, unit price and monthly billing frequency to the subscriber’s contract. The first cycle can then point to that line and inherit the right commercial context. Sales Rep checks that the buyer contact can explain the chosen plan. Finance Clerk uses the contract link when checking an invoice. At renewal, the team can compare the old and new period and keep the contract history connected.

If the line is suspended, review any future scheduled cycles before orders are prepared. If the agreement expires, keep its earlier orders and invoices linked for the customer history.

What your team sees

  • Subscription Terms — Pending and active agreements with subscriber, dates and owner.
  • Curation Calendar — Upcoming cycles tied to a contract line and its period.

Follow the work through

Use subscription terms before cycle planning. The implementation plan sets the first customer cohort.
