Systems to connect
- Backup execution system. Bring run number, database, timing, size, outcome and restore-test date into the matching backup record when those details are maintained elsewhere.
- Monitoring source. Use the affected service and host asset when turning an operational signal into an incident for a responder.
- Event provider. Record provider, external event identifier, receipt time, payload hash and processing result in an integration receipt for reconciliation.
- Identity source. Map users to People records so instance owners, service owners and incident assignees resolve to the right person.
How connections are governed
Agree who owns each connection, which external identity maps to each internal record and who reviews failed receipts. Test a repeated provider event against its external identifier before using it for operational decisions. Keep the receipt outcome separate from incident resolution, change approval and backup verification. See implementation for the order in which to prepare the reference records.
