How a Engineering Services PSA rollout works

Pilot a client engagement from service delivery to milestone collection.

  1. Agree ownership

Name the Client Manager, Engagement Manager, Delivery Director and Finance Manager who make account, delivery, milestone and collection decisions.

  2. Map source records

Match client, team member and engagement codes; bring in organizations, rates, billing terms, contract value and budget hours before transactions.

  3. Configure a bounded pilot

Use one Active client, one Active engagement, assigned engineers, a service line and a milestone with an amount.

  4. Rehearse exceptions

Submit a service line without an engagement and an approved milestone without an amount. Confirm each stays in its original state and has a Failed operation receipt. Test an overdue payment and an access denial.

  5. Reconcile and release

Compare delivered, approved, invoiced and received figures with the source. Have each owner review their decision and the evidence trail before opening broader work.

What the customer provides

  • Team members, roles, rates, active state and weekly capacity.
  • Engagement contracts, project managers, values, budgets, dates and milestone commitments.
  • Existing time, service, expense, invoice and payment records with stable identifiers.

Changing it afterwards

Use Proto to prepare a change, then review its effect on record links, permissions, workflow guards and reports with the relevant owners. Replay the passing and failing pilot cases. Preserve earlier decisions and operation receipts when correcting records.
