How do I get started?
Click Get started, then use Proto to configure ERP for Automotive for your business. Pilot a real part, its vehicle-year fitment and an approved customer order through production and shipment. Include a warranty review case and reconcile inventory and finance before expanding.
What vehicle information does fitment review use?
Vehicle fitments record part, make, model and model year with fitment status Review, Verified or Withdrawn. Industry Specialist prepares the evidence and Industry Reviewer reviews compatibility through the agreed controlled action. A new vehicle-year application needs its own evidence.
What does a warranty claim contain?
Warranty claims record vehicle VIN, part, failure date, claim amount and status. The success path moves Submitted through Inspection and Approved to Paid. Rejection is separate. Agree required inspection evidence and confirmed payout handling before enabling that final transition.
What should the reviewer check before approving a claim?
Check the selected part, vehicle VIN, failure date and requested amount together. Agree which sale evidence the warranty policy requires and who prepares it. Set up payout confirmation as a connection so the team can distinguish the approved decision from the confirmed payment.
What should we pilot first?
Choose a part whose vehicle application, bill and operation sequence the team can explain. Include a component shortage, inspected receipt, partial shipment and claim review. Ask the planner, quality inspector and accountant to reconcile the same production case before expanding.
How does production planning work?
The planning action uses bill requirements, available inventory and open purchasing or production to prepare planned orders and planning exceptions. Production Planner reviews suggestions and shortage actions before releasing work orders. Confirm calendar and supply rules against the plant’s actual cases.
What prevents held material from being used?
Quality holds record the affected lot, receipt or work order operation. The control blocks issue, completion or shipment while the hold applies. Quality Inspector records the disposition and authorized release; rehearse the denial through the operational action before relying on it.
Who can approve purchasing and specialty decisions?
Approver handles the assigned purchasing and control decisions. Industry Reviewer handles specialty evidence and the claim outcome. Agree decision limits and escalation during setup, then rehearse independent review with the person who prepared the case.
Can we connect scanners, carriers and our bank?
Yes. Agree the source mapping, permitted actors and confirmation rules when setting up each connection. Repeated device or transport events must not repeat receipt, shipment, payment or posting effects.
How do we change the system and review costs?
Use Proto to prepare the change and rehearse its affected permissions and rejection cases before activation. Review the implementation plan for the first operating cycle and pricing for platform usage and implementation work.
