How a Automotive ERP rollout works

Pilot a real part through fitment review, production, shipment and a warranty decision.

  1. Agree the operating boundary

Choose a part and vehicle application the team can verify. Include parts production and claim review where used. Agree the vehicle compatibility decision and the evidence the team needs to make a warranty outcome explainable.

  2. Map source identities

Prepare part number, employee and warehouse mappings, bill and routing versions, lot evidence and opening accounting balances. Agree the sale evidence needed for claim review and the connection used to confirm payout.

  3. Agree responsibilities and decisions

Name the people preparing purchasing and specialty evidence, then name the independent reviewers. Rehearse their decision limits with ordinary accounts. Assign the planner's personal queue and confirm who handles production reporting and stock movements.

  4. Rehearse the first cycle

Use approved demand, a component shortage, an inspected receipt and terminal-operation output. Test repeated intake, purchase conversion, receipt, completion, shipment and posting commands. Add a fitment review and rejected claim; keep missing evidence and denied access visible.

  5. Reconcile and release the agreed scope

Compare stock quantities, commitments, invoice balances and posted accounts with the source. Check a Locked accounting period refusal and a named reopen action. Obtain the business owners' acceptance of the observed outcomes before opening routine work or enabling external feeds.

What the customer provides

  • Part identities, stocking units, bill revisions and the operation sequence used in production.
  • Exact vehicle make, model and model-year evidence plus the warranty review and payout policy.
  • Supplier approval, purchasing thresholds, inspection plans and calibration evidence.
  • Warehouse quantities, lot and serial history, customer balances and the chart of accounts.
  • Named people for the production, purchasing, quality, finance and specialty decisions, with examples of permitted and denied work.

Changing it afterwards

Use Proto to prepare the changed fields, references and actions for review. Preserve earlier decisions and source identities. Re-run the affected positive and rejection cases before activating a changed rule. A new claim eligibility link, device feed or approval policy needs its own acceptance evidence and permission review.
