Multi-warehouse footwear trade
A footwear business operating several sites can keep product positions under the right legal entity and warehouse. Stock transfers retain dispatched, transit and received quantities, while a count reviews the local position before adjustment.
How Footwear ERP is set up for you
Warehouse scope
Keep every stock position under its owning entity, site, location and custody state.
Transfer evidence
Track partial dispatch, owned transit and destination receipt by transfer line.
Inventory review
Lock count scope and preserve blind observations before an adjustment.
A footwear business operating several sites can keep product positions under the right legal entity and warehouse. Stock transfers retain dispatched, transit and received quantities, while a count reviews the local position before adjustment.
Start with owned stock at a source warehouse and an approved dealer order assigned to a destination site. Warehouse Manager reserves eligible quantity and approves a same-entity transfer. Warehouse Operator records dispatch and a partial destination receipt so the unreceived quantity remains in transit.
At the destination, compare the received stock with available quantity after reservations. Lock a position for a blind count; Warehouse Operator records the observed amount before Warehouse Manager reviews a variance. Finance Manager decides a value-affecting adjustment when required. Use [implementation](/erp-for-footwear/implementation) to map warehouses, locations and opening positions.
Ask both warehouse teams to trace the transfer line from source issue through destination receipt. The unreceived balance should remain owned in transit, and a count adjustment should retain its observation and decision.
Rehearse a transfer that stays partly in transit overnight. The destination team should see only the quantity actually received as available. The source team can explain where the balance sits, and Finance Manager can trace any approved loss or count adjustment to its original movement.
