Systems to connect
- Customer order system. Configure intake separately if customer freight requests originate elsewhere. Map the customer, lane, weight unit and promised date, and preserve the identity of the trip produced by capture.
- Route planning or vehicle tracking. Connect a chosen service separately for route optimization or tracking. Agree how its plan or observations populate the relevant trip and stop context, including date conventions and assignment ownership.
- Accounting and invoicing. Map approved trip charges to the customer’s billing process. Agree currency, charge identity, invoice references and how an already posted charge is recognized before retrying a handoff.
- Inventory system. Establish which system owns opening balances and the warehouse movement effect. Map item and facility identities, preserve units and inspect both sides of a transfer before accepting its result.
How connections are governed
Transport Manager agrees customer, fleet and lane mapping with the responsible system owner. Finance Officer defines the charge reconciliation and billing result. Admin establishes staff and inventory reference access within the agreed operating scope.
For every write, identify the source record and expected result before sending the request. Rehearse a delayed response and inspect existing effects before retrying. A trip returned from capture, an invoice reference and a stock movement pair each need their own correlation and recovery handling.
Check attachment access separately from the visible trip record. Use implementation to rehearse the whole handoff before adding another connection or broadening the operating team.
