How a Pharma ERP rollout works
Pilot a batch from incoming material through accepted output, specialty review and reconciled postings.
Agree the operating scope
Select a product, incoming supplier lot and production order the operations and quality owners can review together. Include its batch release and stability follow-up. Keep external laboratory execution, signatures and regulatory submissions within their separately agreed systems.
Map reference data
Reconcile products and supplier-to-vendor identity, then the selected bill and route. Map the specialty reviewer to their user account and verify the employee mapping used by assigned-work and purchase views. Import lot and certificate evidence with original identifiers and dates.
Configure views and controlled routes
Set up the operating views and reports with their named owners. Agree the controlled purchasing and batch decision routes and test them with the reviewer accounts. Confirm who can perform floor commands and who records the resulting production evidence.
Rehearse physical and quality controls
Attempt issue from an expired or held lot, a duplicate receipt and a repeated accepted completion. Try an inspection with an overdue instrument and self-verification of corrective work. Each rejected command must leave its affected quantity and financial result unchanged.
Review specialty evidence
Capture the pilot batch review with the correct quality reviewer and certificate context. Reject repeated evidence identities. Rehearse a stability correction through the attributed successor-evidence route; review the original and successor evidence together before accepting the correction.
Reconcile and release
Compare received, issued and accepted quantity with source evidence. Check customer and supplier invoice scope and the once-only material posting. Lock the period and verify refusal of a new posting inside it. Domain owners review the permitted decisions and their denial cases before wider cutover.
What the customer provides
- Product identifiers, stocking units, active bills and routing definitions for the pilot.
- Supplier and vendor mappings, opening lot quantities, expiry evidence and warehouse allocation context.
- Inspection plans, calibration evidence and the policy for release, rejection or rework.
- Batch reviewer account mappings, stability pull conventions and the correction policy.
- Account mappings, open commitments and the period or payment approval policy.
Changing it afterwards
Use Proto to prepare a reviewed configuration change. Inspect affected references, permissions and reports before applying it. Preserve earlier production definitions and evidence dates; replay the duplicate, expiry and decision-access cases after a workflow change. Keep the original financial effect identifiable when processing corrections.
