What you can do
Keep the source and decision together
Delivery routes retain the coordinator, assigned operator, source warehouse, planned window and ordered stops. Warehouse Manager approves release only when the route has transport and load evidence. A shipment dispatch records actual quantities from verified ready scope.
Delivery attempts and results distinguish accepted, refused, failed and damaged quantities. Title transfer follows the order rule, so dispatch and delivered quantity may have different financial effects. Returns trace the original line and require authorization before physical disposition.
How the work is organized
- Agree. Agree the dispatch or delivery title rule for each order.
- Assign. Assign a route operator and retain the transport reference.
- Define. Define who approves returns and the allowed disposition.
A route has an assigned operator, source warehouse, stop order and planned window. Warehouse Manager reviews transport and load evidence before release. Warehouse Operator records dispatch and the actual attempt result by line. A refused portion remains distinct from an accepted one; title transfer follows the order’s dispatch or delivery rule.
What to agree during setup
Agree the dispatch or delivery title rule for each order. Assign a route operator and retain the transport reference. Define who approves returns and the allowed disposition. Name the person who will review a changed revision and the person who will reconcile a posted correction. Check that both work within the right legal entity and assigned site.
Check the handoff on an actual case
A dealer delivery includes two lines, but one line is refused at the stop. The operator records the visit and result once. Sales still sees the unresolved quantity, while finance invoices only eligible title-transferred scope. If the goods come back, the return follows the original delivery line and a reviewed disposition.
For a two-line delivery, record the accepted first line and refused second line against the same attempt. Check that Sales still sees the unresolved order quantity and Finance bills only the eligible title-transferred amount. If the refused goods return, trace them to the original line and obtain a disposition decision before changing stock.
