Packaging distribution
A packaging distributor can follow cartons, bags or other stocked products from a supplier commitment through a dealer order and actual delivery. The product master identifies the sellable item and its unit conversion; dealer price lists establish the agreed commercial basis.
How Printing & Packaging ERP is set up for you
Dealer accounts
Set the selling entity, contact, terms, price list and credit limit before accepting orders.
Stocked products
Keep available and reserved quantities separate by warehouse and location.
Partial delivery
Record what left, what arrived and what remains promised on the original order.
A packaging distributor can follow cartons, bags or other stocked products from a supplier commitment through a dealer order and actual delivery. The product master identifies the sellable item and its unit conversion; dealer price lists establish the agreed commercial basis.
Begin with one entity, a bounded product range, active dealers, a supplier and one warehouse. Rehearse a quote, independent order acceptance, a partial goods receipt and a partial customer delivery. Compare the accepted order value with the shipped and uninvoiced remainder. Confirm title terms before approving the invoice. Import opening stock only after product units and warehouse ownership are agreed.
The first operating cycle should include an exception: a dealer on hold, a rejected receipt tranche or a refused delivery line. Give each exception an owner and retained source reference. Expand to further warehouses after stock and receivables reconcile. [Plan the rollout](/erp-for-printing-packaging/implementation).
For the first review, compare the dealer order line with the delivery line and invoice line. The sales team should see the original promise and the warehouse should see the actual pick. Finance should explain which delivered portion has reached an approved invoice and which remains open.
