How a Steel & Metals ERP rollout works
Start with one entity and reconcile each handoff before expanding.
Set the operating boundary
Choose the entity, functional currency, warehouse, policy owners and review authority.
Prepare masters
Load products, units, suppliers, dealers, terms and price lists; review the versions used for transactions.
Reconcile opening position
Load stock and open financial balances at one cutoff with source identities and evidence.
Run a trade cycle
Take a quote through accepted order, supplier purchase, receipt, reservation, delivery and invoice.
Review settlement and close
Match bank evidence, apply cash, resolve exceptions and close the entity period.
What the customer provides
Provide the actual product and unit list, customer and supplier records, opening stock by ownership and location, current order commitments, bank evidence, entity chart of accounts, rates, tax treatment and named reviewers. Agree who will resolve short receipt, partial delivery, damaged goods and credit exceptions.
Changing it afterwards
Change master versions through review so earlier accepted documents keep their original basis. A correction to posted stock or finance uses a linked event or reversal. Expand to another warehouse or entity after the pilot balances and permissions reconcile. Review the data model and integrations with each new source.
