What you can do
Start from the operating record
The Warehouse Manager plans a delivery against an accepted order and reserved stock. A route has a named coordinator, operator, warehouse, transport reference and sequenced stops. Release is reviewed against that plan. A planned route is an instruction; actual handoff and delivery outcomes come from dispatch and attempt records.
How the work is organized
- Plan the handoff. Warehouse Manager links an accepted order, reservation and delivery to a warehouse and route.
- Release the route. Warehouse Manager checks the assigned operator, transport reference, load evidence and sequenced stops.
- Resolve outcomes. Warehouse Operator records actual visits and line outcomes; Warehouse Manager reviews returned goods disposition.
What to agree during setup
Agree whether title transfers at dispatch or delivery for the accepted order. Record the route coordinator, assigned operator, transport reference and stop sequence before release. The warehouse needs a verified ready quantity, and each visit needs evidence separate from the final line outcome.
Start with an order that can ship from one warehouse. Identify who records a refused or damaged portion and who follows up with the dealer. Set the authority for a return and choose a destination for held, restocked or scrapped goods before the first exception occurs.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Warehouse Operator picks only verified ready scope and records the dispatched quantity. The order title rule determines whether dispatch or accepted delivery transfers title. A single attempt can record accepted, refused, failed and damaged quantities by line, so one stop need not force the whole delivery to a single outcome.
A customer return starts from original shipped scope and a requested quantity. Authorization bounds that scope; actual received quantity and disposition are recorded separately. The Warehouse Manager can choose restock, hold, rework or another recorded disposition, while Finance Manager reviews any related credit or refund decision.
Rehearse a route stop that accepts part of a delivery and refuses the rest. Warehouse Operator records the visit and allocates each outcome to its delivery line. Warehouse Manager checks the remaining open scope before authorizing a return; actual goods received and their disposition are recorded separately.
