What you can do

Follow the disruption through recovery

An outage, alarm or curtailment changes the conditions under which a factory uses energy. Energy Manager records the event against its site and acknowledges the operating issue. The event description and actual interval give the next person enough context to review the response and understand when normal operation resumed.

Maintenance Coordinator handles the work required at the site. A maintenance task carries a responsible person and a due date. Authorization moves that task from Open to Approved before Technician starts the work. Event recovery and task completion are separate decisions: the team reviews the operating conditions as well as whether the assigned task has been completed.

How the work is organized

  • Event acknowledgment. Energy Manager reviews open events, identifies the event type and moves the relevant record to Acknowledged. Actual start and end values support validation before the response and recovery review.
  • Task authorization. Maintenance Coordinator checks the task description, site and assigned person. Approving the task confirms that the work can proceed under the team’s operating arrangements.
  • Completion and recovery. Technician records work in progress and actual completion. Energy Manager separately reviews the acknowledged event and marks it Resolved when the recovery decision is supported by the operating evidence.

What to agree during setup

Agree who can acknowledge and resolve an event and who can authorize a maintenance task. Make the assignment meaningful by matching each person to their application account. A Technician should be able to locate their own work and its due date without searching across every person’s tasks.

Decide how the team relates an event and the work performed at the same site during review. Keep the event description specific enough to identify the affected operating window. Use task descriptions that explain the required action. When more than one event occurs at the site, confirm which recovery discussion each task informs rather than treating site membership as a complete explanation.

Check the handoff on an actual case

Rehearse an alarm at a compressor installation. Energy Manager records the event and acknowledges it after checking the site and actual interval. Maintenance Coordinator prepares an inspection task, assigns Technician and reviews the due date before authorizing the work. The assigned person opens My Maintenance and confirms the task they are expected to perform.

After the inspection, Technician records completion. Energy Manager then checks whether the operating issue has been resolved and whether the recorded event end matches the actual recovery. If the alarm continues, the event remains available for further response even though the inspection task is complete. That distinction gives the next shift a clear account of the remaining operating issue.

What your team sees

  • Event Board — Follow open and acknowledged site events by their current operating state.
  • Maintenance Authorization — Review open tasks before authorizing assigned work.
  • My Maintenance — Find assigned tasks with their due date and completion state.

Follow the work through

Use Event response and maintenance to rehearse a disruption and its recovery. Confirm the access boundaries in Roles.
