What you can do

Give each space a clear place in the schedule

Resources represent the styling stations, fitting rooms, suites and other bookable spaces used by the studio. Each resource has a name, type, capacity and readiness status. Property Manager keeps those values current so staff know which space suits a visit and how many clients it can accommodate. The resource record is the common link for bookings and service tasks; changing its name does not require recreating a booking.

Rate plans hold a resource type, effective start and end, daily rate and minimum days. A manager can review which plan applies to the date of a requested visit, then record the agreed daily rate on the booking. This keeps planning and the rate actually attached to a visit understandable when a future plan changes.

How the work is organized

  • Capacity. Compare the requested client count with the capacity of the selected resource.
  • Availability. Review the resource status together with bookings for the requested dates.
  • Rate period. Look at dated rate plans by resource type before entering the booking’s daily rate.

What to agree during setup

Define resource types consistently so a dated rate plan can be found for each type the team sells. Agree how the minimum duration is applied when staff quote a visit, and how overlapping plans are resolved. Decide who changes a resource from available to occupied, then to cleaning after departure. Maintenance should be visible to booking staff before the space is promised again. A completed cleaning task should be checked before marking a room available for the next client.

Check the handoff on an actual case

A fitting room is available for an upcoming wig visit. The manager reviews its capacity, reads the rate plan for that resource type and dates, then records the room and daily rate on the booking. When the client arrives, the room becomes occupied. After checkout, it moves to cleaning and a task is assigned to a team member. The next booking should be planned with that readiness state visible; the status must reflect the room’s actual condition.

Try the same case with a maintenance status. Property Manager should resolve whether another resource can serve the client rather than using the first room merely because its calendar appears open. Review the booking and resource together so the team sees both the reserved interval and the current operational state.
