What you can do
Make exceptions explainable
A useful operating result starts with the entity, party, product and cutoff. Accepted orders, posted allocations, actual shipments and delivery results answer different questions. Inventory positions show current owned quantity and value, while stock events explain how they changed. Supplier receipt performance distinguishes arrival from accepted quantity. Posted invoices and bills provide due balances after actual applications and corrections. Close tasks expose unresolved source checks to the accountant and Finance Manager. Each report preserves its source so a reviewer can return to the exact revision or event.
How the work is organized
- Demand. Compare accepted dealer quantity with allocation, shipment and delivery outcomes.
- Supply. Separate supplier arrival from accepted stock and matched bill quantity.
- Books. Read invoices, cash and close tasks at one entity and cutoff.
What to agree during setup
Agree the entity, cutoff and currency basis before a team compares operating and financial totals. Sales Manager should read accepted orders against remaining shipments; Warehouse Manager should reconcile delivery results with the stock position. Accountant needs invoice applications and supplier bill matches on the same source period. Finance Manager reviews the close task exceptions before a period decision.
Pick a dealer order with a partial shipment and a refused line, then trace its original commitment, route outcome and eligible billed amount. Repeat with a supplier receipt whose arrived quantity differs from accepted quantity. Decide who resolves each mismatch and which source event closes it. Do not combine balances across entities or currencies without a reviewed rate and explicit conversion basis. Keep the source revision available so a later correction can be explained.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Review a dealer order that shipped in two parts and had one refused delivery. Compare accepted scope, dispatched quantity, accepted delivery, invoiced amount and open receivable. Then inspect the warehouse position and the route exception to explain the remainder. For the related supplier order, compare ordered, arrived, accepted and billed quantities. Use one entity and cutoff for the financial result; do not sum balances in different currencies without the approved rate basis.

- Bills
- Local supplier debit/credit documents with matching, carrying and separate settlement.
