What you can do
Start from an approved opening
Follow an opening from approved requisition through applications, interviews and offer. Recruiter owns candidate, application, interview and offer records. A requisition carries the open position, headcount, hiring manager and recruiter. Candidate intake belongs to an Open requisition; an interview recommendation belongs to the application before it advances. The offer connects that application, candidate and position to the salary decision.
How the work is organized
- Prepare the record. Open the requisition with its position, headcount, hiring manager and recruiter after the approval decision.
- Review the decision. Match the candidate before adding an application; record a completed interview and recommendation before advancing its stage.
- Close the handoff. Compare the offer salary with the position’s pay grade and record the authorized decision before sending it.
What to agree during setup
Agree who confirms an opening that adds headcount and who reviews an offer outside the position’s pay grade. Recruiter can edit the recruiting records; Hiring Manager can inspect the pipeline but has read access only. Admin records the decision after the hiring owner reviews the opening or offer.
Choose how to match an existing candidate before intake. Reuse the candidate when the identity matches and avoid a second application for the same candidate and requisition. Check start date, currency, salary and expiration before sending an offer. The implementation plan gives the first cycle a bounded scope.
Check the handoff on an actual case
Consider an applicant reaches the offer stage. Recruiter checks that the completed interview has a recommendation, then prepares the offer against the application and position. The salary decision should use the position’s pay grade before the offer is sent. Confirm the completed interview and recommendation on the application. Compare the offer salary with the linked position’s pay grade. Admin records the authorized decision before Recruiter moves the offer to Sent.
Test a normal case and one with a changed date or mismatched reference. Ask the operating owner to show the source record and its linked result. Repeat with an account outside the permitted role and confirm it cannot change the record. Keep the earlier decision available when correcting a mistake.
