Manufacturing stockrooms
A manufacturing stockroom can use Inventory Allocation Engine to review demand for shared materials, reserve eligible lots and explain posted stock work. Connect production planning through an agreed setup with the team that owns material demand. Keep the stockroom's authorized quantity and evidence clear at that handoff.
How Inventory Allocation Engine is set up for you
Identify the material precisely
Each item record holds SKU, base unit and tracking mode. Each stock lot retains the item and storage location with its actual quantity and condition. Check these references before using a production team's description as the basis for an allocation.
Respect competing commitments
Existing Held reservations reduce free lot quantity. Inventory Clerk cannot reserve an oversized request simply because it has approval. Inventory Supervisor decides how to correct demand or wait for separately evidenced stock.
Retain policy reasoning
Review the channel guidance and safety-stock quantity with Inventory Supervisor. Agree what the channel means for the stockroom's operating case. Keep the policy interpretation with the decision so the clerk can explain the authorized material quantity.
Explain an incorrect effect
Inventory Supervisor uses the reversal workflow to post a compensation while retaining the original movement. Auditor follows the reference to the original movement and the lot balance; an edited original amount cannot replace the documented correction path.

Pilot a material range with known opening lots and reviewed requests that compete for supply. Include an ineligible lot, a repeated successful reservation and a posted receive effect needing reversal. Reconcile the evidence to the physical case before expanding into production-system connections.
Agree which external team owns production demand and how the stockroom communicates refusal or completion. Rehearse reservation and stock posting separately so the team can explain each result. Completion reconciliation should expose a posted-quantity mismatch and keep the request unchanged until supported correction resolves the case.
