Repacking operations
A repack changes how stock is presented and sold. The output is a separate stock item, and the bill gives the input quantity per output basis. The route records the sequence the team follows. Work order material and production records let the manager see whether the intended output was achieved and what was consumed to get there.
How Kitting & Assembly is set up for you
Pack identity
The output item can be identified as a repacked product and held in a chosen storage location.
Input basis
Component lines name stock items, base quantities and planned loss.
Work sequence
Routing operations provide ordered instructions and terminal output designation.
Cost trail
Material, labour, overhead and completion relief stay on distinct work order cost entries.
Delivery link
Available finished packs can be reserved for dealer orders and shipped in bounded quantities.
A repack changes how stock is presented and sold. The output is a separate stock item, and the bill gives the input quantity per output basis. The route records the sequence the team follows. Work order material and production records let the manager see whether the intended output was achieved and what was consumed to get there.
Start with a repack the team performs regularly, such as dividing a bulk item into a dealer pack. Confirm the base unit for both the source and finished item. A bill should say how many source units produce a stated number of finished packs, including any planned loss. Assign a route whose terminal operation is the point at which a pack is ready for stock.
Rehearse a build with an unused material return and a smaller finished output than planned. The source stock issue should remain visible, as should the returned quantity. Compare actual work in process allocated to accepted output with its standard value. If a variance remains, Finance Manager reviews the decision before close. This gives the next repack estimate a real history without altering the completed record.
Warehouse Manager should agree where input stock moves into production custody and where finished packs are stored. Purchasing Manager can check supplier replenishment against actual usage. For a dealer order, Sales Representative follows the remaining promise while Warehouse Operator picks only stock that has been posted as finished output. [Completion and costing](/kitting-assembly/modules/completion-and-costing) covers the value handoff; [fulfillment](/kitting-assembly/modules/fulfillment) covers dispatch.
