Multi-entity practice
Each operating entity has its own organization record, team membership and business partners. The Accounting Preparer selects the owning entity before drafting a document; the Accounting Reviewer decides within that scope. The Finance Lead inspects account items for the relevant entity without treating a partner with a similar name in another entity as the same counterparty.
How Legal Billing & Time Tracking is set up for you
Document ownership
Assign each request to a named Accounting Preparer and the appropriate organization before it enters review.
Independent decision
Have an Accounting Reviewer check the frozen revision and supporting evidence; retain the decision and reason.
Account evidence
Follow journal lines, operation receipts, provider movements and dated snapshots back to the source document.
Choose one entity and one of its accounts for the first cycle. Use a partner code belonging to that entity, add a supporting attachment and have a reviewer from the proper membership decide the current revision. Try the same case under another entity to check access and counterparty scope. Compare the provider item with the account and dated snapshot that belong to the first entity. Keep the source references when expanding to the next entity so each Auditor can reconstruct the original decision.
Before expanding, agree who corrects counterparty details, who investigates a receipt marked for review and who may decide an accounting revision. The administrator maintains membership, while financial authority stays with the reviewer. Keep the source document number visible when the Accounting Reviewer asks why a movement was matched or left open. Use the [implementation plan](/legal-billing-time-tracking/implementation) to stage imports and the [account reconciliation process](/legal-billing-time-tracking/processes/account-reconciliation) to check the first period.
