AI agent

Ask Proto about the next action

Give each role a practical assistant for finding matter work and preparing a review.

It can

  • Intake Coordinator: Find submitted intakes and gather the matter, client and conflict context for review.
  • Supervising Attorney: Show the parties, conflict evidence and dated outcomes before a clearance decision.
  • Matter Owner: List due deadlines, their owners and the related matter events or receipts.
  • Document Reviewer: Locate an Unreviewed document, its revision, hash and production history.

Stays with a person

  • The assistant can prepare a record and point to missing context.
  • The named professional still decides conflict clearance, engagement, document disclosure and an accepted correction.
  • A reconciliation conclusion needs a human to check the persisted evidence.
  • Give the assistant access that matches the person's role, then test the handoff on a real pilot matter.

Implementation

Roll out one team at a time

Start with one team and one process, then add the rest once the basics are running.

  1. Choose a pilot

Select a practice area and a real class of prospective matter with a conflict review, a deadline and a document handoff.

  2. Set up people and context

Add the organization, clients, users and Team Members. Agree who submits, reviews, owns and administers each step.

  3. Load matter history

Bring in the matter, intake and linked evidence in data-model order. Check record numbers and references.

  4. Rehearse decisions

Test clear, conflict and more-information outcomes, an independent engagement decision and a reviewed correction.

  5. Rehearse execution

Enter a counsel-verified deadline, review a document revision, record a production and retain its recipient receipt.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Scope, rollout and pricing for Legal Practice Management.

All questions
How do I get started?

Click Get started, then use Proto to configure Legal Practice Management for your business. Start with one practice area, a real intake, a conflict decision and a verified deadline.

Who decides whether a matter can be accepted?

The supervising attorney records a Clear conflict outcome. A separate Operations Reviewer makes the engagement decision against the submitted scope and source revision.

What happens when a conflict needs more information?

The attorney records that more information is needed, with evidence. The coordinator can gather the missing detail before the team considers engagement.

How are deadlines assigned?

Counsel verifies the court or contract source. The Matter Owner records the deadline type, due date and named owner, with an event and operation receipt on the matter.

Can we track which document was disclosed?

Yes. A production links to the legal document and records the recipient, authorization reference, date and production hash. The matter retains the actual recipient receipt.

How is privilege handled?

The document carries a state of Unreviewed, Privileged or not privileged, plus its revision and approver. The reviewer checks those details before authorizing production.

What happens if accepted scope changes?

The owner requests a correction. An independent reviewer records a decision, and accepted changes keep the original action with successor evidence and a compensating receipt.

How do we check an uncertain operation?

Read the persisted source records and the receipt's effect references before deciding whether the action completed. Record the reconciliation on the matter timeline.

Can we connect our existing systems?

You can plan connections to court or contract sources, file delivery and accounting during implementation. Agree which system supplies each reference and which evidence stays on the matter.
